The NFL announced that they will play 3 Christmas Day games in the upcoming season. Christmas falls on a Sunday this year. There will be 2 afternoon games on CBS and Fox and a prime-time game on NBC. The announcement was made by NFL VP of Broadcasting Mike North on a podcast with WGR radio host and Buffalo Bills sideline reporter Sal Capaccio.

Traditionally, when Christmas falls on a Sunday, the league opts to play the bulk of their games on Christmas Eve. They will play 11 games on December 24th this year including a prime time game on NFL Network.
