A Georgia man associated with the Oath Keepers, a far right militia group, became the second rioter to plead guilty to seditious conspiracy for his actions that lead up to the Jan. 6, 2021 insurrection.
Brian Ulrich plead guilty on Friday to seditious conspiracy and to obstructing an official proceeding. Sentencing guidelines are estimated to be 63 and 78 months in prison.
Embed from Getty ImagesUlrich had been accused of participating in encryped chats with other people affiliated with the far right Oath Keepers days before the insurrection. He was also believed to have rode toward the Capitol with others, marched on the grounds, taunted police officers and entering the Capitol with hundreds of others that sought to prevent the certification of President Joe Biden’s 2020 victory over Trump.
The 44-year-old has agreed to cooperate with authorities including testifying before a grand jury.
