The Dallas Cowboys announced last night that former running back Marion Barber III passed away. He was 38 years old. He played his final season in the league as a member of the Chicago Bears after playing the previous 6 years in Dallas. He had mental health struggles after his playing days were over.

In a statement, the Cowboys stated that they were “heartbroken by the tragic death of Marion Barber III.”
Marion’s father, Marion Barber Jr. played 7 seasons in the NFL for the NY Jets. Barber III’s bruising style of running got him into the end zone a total of 53 times in his career. He was a 4th round draft pick out of Minnesota in 2005 by the Cowboys.
