Draymond Green Suspended for Game 3 of Series With Kings

-

Warriors forward Draymond Green has received a one-game suspension without pay after stepping on the chest of Domantas Sabonis from the Sacramento Kings. As a result, Green will not be playing in Game 3 of the Warriors’ first-round playoff series on Thursday night.

The announcement was made by the NBA two days before the series moves to the Warriors’ home court at Chase Center. The decision to suspend Green was influenced by his past behavior and history of unsportsmanlike conduct.

The incident occurred during the fourth quarter of Game 2, when the Kings won 114-106. After Curry secured a defensive rebound, Green stepped on Sabonis’ chest as he lay on the ground. Sabonis remained down for several minutes while officials reviewed the play.

Sabonis received a technical foul for grabbing Green’s leg, while Green was given a flagrant-2 foul and was automatically ejected from the game.
