On April 10th, 2023, a tragic shooting incident occurred at the Old National Bank in Louisville, where a 23-year-old bank employee, Connor Sturgeon, opened fire on his colleagues using a rifle. The shooting resulted in the deaths of five coworkers and the injury of nine others including two policeman. The gunman was killed by the police at the scene, and the shooting was broadcasted live on social media.
Embed from Getty ImagesThe victims of the shooting have been identified as Joshua Barrick (40), Deana Eckert (57), Thomas Elliot (63), Juliana Farmer (45), and James Tutt (64), with Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear personally knowing some of them, including Thomas Elliot, a senior vice president at the Old National Bank.
Sturgeon was an intern at the bank for three separate summers before working full-time employee beginning last year as a portfolio banker. The motive behind the shooting is yet to be determined.
