2nd Arrest Made In Easter Weekend Mass Shooting in Columbia, SC

Police in South Carolina arrested a second person in connection to a shooting that took place inside a shopping mall over the Easter weekend. Columbia Police Chief W.H. “Skip” Holbrook announced on Monday that police have arrested 20 year-old Marquise Love Robinson. They’re also seeking a third suspect, Amari Sincere-Jamal Smith. Both men are facing charges of attempted murder and 9 counts of aggravated assault and battery.

9 people were hit with bullets and another six were injured as patrons tried to exit Columbiana Centre. No fatalities were reported but one person remained in intensive care on Monday.

Police said the shootout was random but the three identified suspects knew each other.

22 year-old Jewayne M. Price was arrested and charged with unlawfully carrying a pistol as well as an attempted murder charge and 9 counts of aggravated assault and battery. Price’s attorney, Todd Rutherford stated that his client fired a gun at the mall, but in self defense.

This event was the 1st of 2 mass shootings that took place in South Carolina over the holiday weekend. At least 9 people were shot early Sunday morning at Cara’s Lounge in rural Hampton County according to the State Law Enforcement Division.
